Meet the Team

At Hartmann Taekwondo, we take pride in being a family-run martial arts school that has been shaping students on the Gold Coast since 1988. Founded by Master Instructor Mr. Shane Hartmann, our legacy continues through his children Ben, Daniel, and Joanne, who now lead two thriving Taekwondo centres in Currumbin and Merrimac.

Our expert Taekwondo instructors are passionate about developing confident, disciplined, and skilled martial artists. Every team member is a Kukkiwon-certified Black Belt, ensuring the highest standard of training in line with international Taekwondo guidelines. All our instructors also hold Blue Cards for working with children and are registered members of the Australian Taekwondo Organisation, reflecting our commitment to safe, high-quality coaching.

With over 35 years of experience, we provide structured training for students of all ages and skill levels, blending traditional Taekwondo values with modern coaching techniques. Whether you're looking to build confidence, improve fitness, or advance in your martial arts journey, our team is here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Di has been part of the team since 1988. She will be the first to introduce herself and make you feel welcome as part of the team.

Hartmanns is a family and community orientated Taekwondo club. All the teachers are patient, understanding and committed. You can go at your own pace in a safe environment. Everyone there helps each other out.
In saying that, they also encourage you to push yourself. There are programs for sparing and even private lessons.
